Tubers And Fruits

Potatoes dug weekly, orchard fruit tree-ripened, berries picked fragile-fresh — the season, boxed.

What This Service Entails

Roots That Keep, Fruit That Sings

Eight acres of potatoes, carrots, and beets rotate with our grain ground, while the hillside orchard holds apples, pears, plums, and two tunnels of berries. Everything is picked ripe — tubers cured overnight for perfect skins, fruit tree-ripened until it practically falls.

Winter brings our famous storage shares: potatoes, roots, and apples that carry local flavor through the cold months, plus preserves from summer’s surplus.

Our Process

Dig, Cure, Store, Share

1

Plant clean stock

Certified seed potatoes and disease-free nursery trees start every root and fruit right.

2

Hill, thin & prune

Potatoes hilled for clean skins; orchards pruned open so sun reaches every apple.

3

Harvest in passes

Tubers lifted as needed, fruit picked limb by limb at true ripeness — never early.

4

Cure & keep

Roots cured in the barn, fruit graded into cold storage for months of eating.

“The storage share got us through winter. Potatoes like butter and apples still crisp in March.”

FAQs

Good to Know

Which potato varieties do you grow?

Buttery Yukon types for boiling, russets for baking, and fingerlings for roasting — the lineup rotates yearly.

Can I pick my own fruit?

Yes — pick-your-own weekends run through September in the orchard and berry tunnels. Baskets provided.

Do you spray the orchard?

Only approved organic materials, and only when traps tell us we must. Most pest control is pruning, netting, and beneficial insects.
